Lunch... A simple thing!

This week has had a lot of ups and downs... Today, I experienced another up.

The other day, I was pleasantly surprised when I retrieved my mail!

I recently renewed my Nursing License, and finally received the 'hard copy' of said license.  Now, receiving a letter, a parcel, a package... it's like Christmas!  You look at the return address to see who it is from, then a look to the postmark to see when it was sent, and from where...

Hmm... there is something missing...

No postmark.  No stamp/postage.  Yet, it still arrived.

I don't know who was responsible... however, I thank you!  This supports my hypothesis regarding the postal service!  Under automation, this letter had to have been 'kicked out' due to lack of postage.  There was a human being, somewhere, that had to review it, realized its importance, and made a conscious decision to continue it on its way.

Therefore, I will 'post' a few more letters in the next couple of days.  I might even overpay on the postage, to reimburse or offset this favor.

With everything that has transpired this week, and I admit I am leaving a few things out, I got an invite from a friend the other day, to have lunch today.  So I rode, and we met.

We had lunch, a mid-afternoon drink, and for over three hours, we talked.  There is a ride plan in the making!  Suggested was a short hop... a few hours at most.  I was thinking a day/overnight ride...  Perhaps another lunch to hash out the destination, route, and invites to others!

Lunch is such a simple thing...

Peace to all...

I have been off for a week now, as a friend says, "unemployed."

This has been a roller-coaster ride of a week though.  I finished a contract, spent a few extra days in Yuma and went out with friends, missed catching a few before I left, although I made that "hit, then split!"  Rode home, took my time, and enjoyed the feeling of freedom, of not having to be anywhere anytime soon!

Spent some time over the weekend with a friend and my dad.  We went somewhere that I myself haven't been too, re-met someone I once did, met three new people, received a gift, spent some money and got a few things for myself.

The other day, as I pulled into my place, I saw a plant next to the garbage can in the alley.  It was one of those miniature Christmas Trees/ferns/evergreens/looks like a Fir...  was looking a little weak, wilting, yet surprisingly healthy.  So I grabbed it, brought it in, and watered it.  Today, it appears to have perked up and is already showing signs of new growth!

This morning, my mom called me.

Not a rare thing, yet before I answered, I sat down.

She called to tell me that my Aunt had passed.  My father's sister.  I was somehow prepared, yet completely taken by surprise by this news.

This evening, as I thought back, reminisced, and recalled... I was filled by this overwhelming feeling of peace.  I only wish I could fully share this experience with my dad.

As I mourn the loss of a family member, I also mourn the loss my father has had.  There are no words.

Peace.

Close combat, 5 yards or so...

I went on a little excursion with a friend last week..

He pulled out the "cards."

I hit it, then split it!

He's still cussing a little bit...

Vaya con dios, mis amigos!

Oh, how time flies!

It has been six months already!  Thirteen weeks, turned into 26!  It seems like I just oriented...

I am wrapping up here in Yuma, a brief break, then off again!  Tucson, is my next destination.  Sorta of a homecoming in a way, attended the UofA, lived in Tucson for awhile.  I am sure things have changed though...

Not making any plans, although He could use a good laugh...  Yet I am thinking ahead about a ride across the Southern States.  Perhaps New Mexico or Texas, Georgia, or even Florida.  The road is open, and I have no destination.

So to all of my new friends and families, in Yuma...

Thank you!

Ruego a Dios que bendice, todo lo que me han bendecido.

Six or seven farsees...

On my ride down to Yuma last week, I recalled a conversation I had with a friend, many years ago, that included an explanation of a "farsee," as related to distance.

A farsee is a simple measurement, and it somehow puts everything into perspective!  It is variable, ubiquitous, yet strangely accurate...

"It is three farsees... look as far as you can see, go there.  From there, look again as far as you can see and go there.  Then look again, as far as you can see, and go there.  It will then be close."

For me, PHX to YUM is just over six farsees.

Farsees do not easily convert into a measurement of time though... some will travel a farsee faster than others, some slower.  I myself, have traveled the same farsees many times, all with varying times.

Tonight is my last shift here in YUM, tomorrow a get together with friends, on Thursday an even smaller get together.  Then a ride home, a rest/reset, then a ride on.

I tried to correlate the concept of a farsee to time, and quickly realized that although it exists, I could not comprehend or understand it.  I can only get to the first farsee.  After that, I can not see beyond.

So I retire for my night with this.

If you want to make God laugh...
Try telling God your plans!

Peace!

I sorta get it...

So I left my phone charger in Yuma.  Got a new one this weekend.

My phone went through a software update (expected of a said "smart phone").

Never rebooted, kept saying there was an error.  Five, yes count them five, power downs, pushing that little known button, taking the battery out, going to the store twice...

Well my phone finally came online yesterday!  Good thing it did, as I received an important call.

My messages, txts, emails, missed calls, phone messages are catching up... I wonder about the outage though, seems during it, the "system" stored everything and is relaying it to me.

And the facts that my laptop has had a seemingly inordinate amount of updates... and my DTV has been out too...

Just hmmm...

A "little" insight...

I am who I am.  What I do, is another thing.  Luckily, I have been able to combine the two!

So here it is...

Enough said.  Questions?

Zingers!

Zingers are those little things...

They could be bits of dust, rocks, bugs, road debris, vehicle parts... that somehow fly up and "getcha!"

I had a few of those this afternoon on my ride home today.  Relatively thin leather gloves, protects the knuckles, yet one knows when they appear!  The jacket, more of a thump, or a "What was that?  Oh!  A zinger!"  Helmet, just a snap or pop.  It was the legs though...

I actually have a bruise on my right leg from an aforementioned zinger!

I need to get a BOB Bag though!  "BOB," is an acronym for "Back Off Buddy."

That little greyed out wording at the bottom of a side rear-view mirror... that says 'Objects are closer than they appear.'  Well, if I see you in my mirror and you look that close, and you are supposedly 'closer than you appear'...   BTFO!  One can decipher that for themselves!

A "zinger" might be dispatched!

I get a pop... you might get a cracked windshield!
